Uma McIntosh received her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law in May 2026. During law school, Uma was actively involved in UConn Law’s advocacy programs, participating in all three competition teams: Moot Court, Mock Trial, and Negotiation. She was a finalist in the Moot Court Competition and subsequently served on the Moot Court Board. She also served as Vice President of the Negotiation and Dispute Resolution Society.

In addition to her involvement in UConn Law’s competition programs, Uma served as Membership Editor of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal. She also participated in UConn Law’s Transactional Clinic, where she gained practical experience representing clients in business and transactional matters.

During law school, Uma held three law clerk positions at Travelers Insurance, working in Claims Legal, Bond Legal, and Staff Counsel. Through these roles, she gained experience across different areas of insurance law, including claims related legal matters, surety and bond matters, and civil litigation.

Uma joined Conway Stoughton in September 2026, where she focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense.

Outside of the office, Uma enjoys keeping busy with a wide range of interests, including scuba diving, fencing, and blacksmithing. A former emergency medical technician, she has taken on her fair share of unconventional pursuits and is always looking to add another hobby to the list.
